Michael Gee 7 String Spruce CSA Rosewood 654mm

Michael has been making high quality guitars for over forty years and has gained an international reputation for building concert level classical guitars.  A seven string guitar from Michael is quite a rarity, and as commissioned form Michael they rate a significant premium over his standard guitars.  This type of guitar, whilst taking a little time to become accustomed to the wider neck, is well suited to Russian music written for a seven course instrument, Brazilian music, and of course any scores which require a dropped D tuning.

The guitar was made as a commission for a member of the Mela Quartet and it features on several of their YouTube recordings.  The scale length is 654mm and the nut width is 62mm.  It has an Ebony fretboard and  Premium CSA Rosewood back and sides.  The Spruce layered soundboard gives a superb volume projection note clarity and balance.  As can be seen, the extra string is accommodated by having a Peghed mechanical tuner for the D string, and the geared mechanism makes tuning very easy.  It is in very good condition with only a few playing marks, as would be expected of a guitar a few years old.
