Rohan Lowe 640mm Spruce, Satinwood

Rohan Lowe began making guitars in 1993 and is one of the younger generation of notable UK luthiers, taking inspiration from the great guitar makers such as Torres, Hernandez and Hauser.  He is forging a reputation as a high quality luthier, providing guitars for a wide range of players from professional to amateur.

The guitar is an excellent example of Rohan's craftsmanship and attention to detail.  It has a Spruce top and somewhat unusually the back and sides are in Satinwood.  This wood was used widely by instrument makers, though its popularity decreased on account of its lack of ease of working.  The sound the guitar produces is bright and sharp and very similar to Maple.  the shorter scale and normal nut side and slightly smaller body make the guitar particularly easy to hold and play.  It is in excellent condition and shows only a couple of minor scuff marks.
