Shaun Newman 650 Spruce Zebrano
Shaun is a very experienced luthier producing high quality guitars from his Crediton workshop where he willingly shares his building skills to aspiring luthiers, myself included. His testimonials from such players as John Mills and Peter Nuttall give due credit to the quality of his instruments and their tone. He has built numerous experimental' instruments as commissions from the Woodworker Magazine and these have all been published
The guitar is a slight variation from Shaun's normal guitars as it has an oil finish rather than his traditional lacquer. The scale length is standard 650mm with the neck having a slightly fuller feel than some guitars. Its light construction with its Spruce top and beautifully book-matched Zebrano back and sides give a guitar with great volume and projection. The treble response and sustain are very good and a solid bass response balances the bright trebles. The guitar is in virtually mint condition and is a very fine guitar at a very attractive price.
