Lorenzo Frignani Spruce Indian Rosewood 650

Lorenzo Frignani is a well respected Italian luthier working in Modena.  He began work in 1981 and in 1986 won his first of many international awards.  In addition he collects and restores Italian guitars from the 1800s and has one of the finest collections of these instruments.  About fifteen years ago he became influenced by Spanish luthiers such as Ramirez, Arias and Garcia and has incorporated their designs into his own work.  He was joined by his son and together they had the idea of developing a high quality guitar but without all the detailed inlay work.  The idea was that such a guitar could be used 'on the road' and still have the necessary concert quality.  These guitars were sold under the label Liuteria Frignani and made in collaboration with luthiers Genis- Prat in Spain.

The guitar has a 650 scale and a standard nut size of 52mm.  It has a Spruce top and beautifully matched back and sides.  The build quality is very high and the guitar feels very light and responsive.  The purfling is restrained but the rosette is very attractive.  As regards the sound the guitar projects well and has a good balance between the resonant basses and sweet trebles.  The guitar is in mint condition and would be an ideal instrument for a player seeking a high quality instrument at a very affordable price.  I can highly recommend this guitar.
